Our good feline friend, Hank, the Maine Coon running for a Senate seat in Virginia, has sent us an update and an invitation:

“I’m beyond excited to announce our biggest campaign event yet! On September 22nd, I will be teaming up with Gwen Cooper, New York Times Bestselling Author of "Homer's Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale" at a very special meeting in Springfield, VA. Gwen has endorsed me for U.S. Senate, and will be appearing with me from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Felix & Oscar Pet Food Naturally in Springfield, VA, to read from her newest novel, titled "Love Saves the Day," which will be released to the public in January 2013.”

Hank has also secured a deal to offer "Homer's Odyssey" at a special price, with all of the profits donated to charity. This event will feature both Animal Allies and the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

With less than 60 days left until the election, Hank’s campaign is running into the home stretch. Hank is proud to announce that his team has raised more than $12,000 for animal charities - with none of his campaign funds spent on negative attack ads lambasting Hank’s political opponents. In fact, according to Hank's campaign staff, a representative from George Allen’s campaign complimented Hank and his campaign team on their efforts to help others rather than fill the kitty’s campaign coffers!
